Just came back from Sentosa.. went there with Eng Sheng and Han Xin for a tanning session. Feeling rather shagged now, must be 'cos of the prolonged exposure to the sun.. heh. It was rather fun, with loads of pictures taken and a good tanning session with the sun shining brightly without any cloud cover.

I think i'm getting addicted to tanning.. Hope I don't get skin cancer! LOL. Tanning is good 'cos it gives people the impression that you're healthy and sporty (which I am! hahahaaa...). So what are you waiting for? Grab your board shorts/bikini and get down to the nearest beach for a wonderful tan!

And there goes another day... I'll be donating blood at Health Sciences Authority tomorrow at 12pm. Guess what? It's a voluntary gesture by me! haha. I made an appointment yesterday to donate blood tomorrow.. Even though A+ blood type is very common, I can still play a part by donating my blood.. who knows, one day there might be a surge in demand for A+ blood!

I just want to make a bit of difference.. For things to change, I must first change myself. I am slowly finding my path back to god, and to honour him I must do things that will bring me salvation.. :)

So thoughtful of him to have this video done up for Michael Jackson, although I think Michael would be flipping around in his grave with nothing but anger and hate...

East Coast Park Picnic 28 June 09.

Heh guys, sorry for the long disruption in updates! Been busy recently, not much time to blog.

My family, my wife and I went to East Coast Park for a SUPER RARE picnic (the next one will prolly be 10 years later or something.). The day was really good; nice cooling winds, bright sun (good for tanning!) and a great sea view!

Had a really great time there, a rather refreshing change from all the hustle and bustle of city life. The air's fresher at the beach too, so if you're feeling stressed out and tired, you can consider taking a stroll along the beach! :)

Going to Batam with my wife in 2 weeks time, can't wait!!

I bought my Acer Netbook today!

Finally bought my netbook today, and after much deliberation at the store, I decided on the Acer Aspire One (Blue) as you see in the pictures.

Initially I was advised against it, as it is rumoured to spoil and break down easily. However, as a die-hard fan of acer (I have a few acer computers that work fine till today), I thought I'd give this netbook a shot.With a 10.1" LCD screen and a 1.27kg weight with a 6-cell battery, it provides all the mobility I need. It's Intel Atom N280 processor with 1.66ghz and 1GB ram is also more than enough for my needs. I only need it to surf the net for project research as well as do my reports and projects on it.

I was supposed to get the white one, which was at a lower price of $638. Other colours were at $688, reason being that white colour was an exclusive colour to the shop, hence they were able to give an extra $50 discount. So I paid exactly $638, expecting to get the white one. After collecting it at the upper level, they gave me the blue one.

Apparently the cashier made a mistake and keyed in the blue coloured one on the receipt, and when I went to collect the laptop upstairs, the staff just read according to the receipt and gave me the blue one!

Woohoo! Lucky ass I am!

Going to sleep now.. wife's complaining already.. lol.

King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is dead.

Yes, it's true. Our King of Pop, Michael Jackson died yesterday, at the age of 50.

I woke up to read the news, and I was totally stunned by this particular piece.

"Michael Jackson dies of cardiac arrest at the age of 50"

Fans around the world will definitely go into deep mourning, for this King of ours had revolutionized dancing and practically the whole direction of the music industry.

I remember I was only a kid, maybe around 4 or 5 years old when I first got to listen to Michael's "Smooth Criminal", "Thriller", "Billie Jean", "Beat It" and many other pop hits during the 80's era. My brother and sister were big fans of his, buying his cassette tapes (they only had cassette tapes in the 80's) and CDs in the 90's. Large-ass LD (Laser Disc) of his music videos were also frequently played at home, and the 3 of us would stare in awe as Michael Jackson executes his unique dance moves.

His voice was so unique, and his dance moves were never seen before. He created his own style, and revolutionized the whole music industry. He had the world at his feet, boys and girls alike treated him like a god.. I was no different.

Despite his erratic behaviour following the downward spiral of his music career, I believe in everybody's hearts, he will always remain as the irreplaceable KING OF POP. Nobody will ever have Michael's unique moves and voice, and NOBODY can have that sort of charisma that attracted fans since his days with his brothers in Jackson Five.

So please, people, no matter you liked Michael or disliked him, you have to acknowledge that it is a great loss to the world that this superstar is now gone. I certainly hope he's off to a better place; a place without media scrutiny, a place where people will not judge him by his looks but by what he did for the world, a place where he is truly happy.

In case you still don't know who he is, Steven Lim shot to fame at the very first Singapore Idol auditions by shocking the judges and viewers by singing in a yellow underwear and nothing else. He has also appeared in many tv dramas as an extra, and has been the biggest joke even till now.

Sigh, someone's just got to control him.

Our first attempts at omelette fried rice..

A couple of days back, my wife smsed me while she was at work, saying that she intends to cook omelette fried rice when she comes home. It was our first attempt so I was a little apprehensive.. but seems like it turned out alright.

First we steamed the rice and left it aside to cool, while we started frying the fried rice ingredients like peas, carrots and corns (readily packed together, bought from Sheng Siong). After the ingredients looked almost done, we put in the rice to fry together, adding soya sauce and black pepper along the way.

After putting aside the fried rice, we then proceeded to fry the omelette, which was even simpler to prepare. Apparently we couldn't match the standards of those Omu Rice that are sold outside, but we did our best.. hahaha. Kudos to my wife, because she actually did most of the stuff, while I just fried a bit of the rice and added the seasonings.

The designs you see on the Omu Rice below are also her CREATIVE ideas... LOL.


The rice was a tad too salty (due to my stupid hands being too clumsy and pouring too much soya sauce), but overall it was really nice. (had to drink lots of water after that 'cos we were so dehydrated by the salty taste.. heh.)



The grilled chicken breast + 3 sunny side up eggs below was my lunch yesterday. My first attempt at cooking a decent full lunch for myself, and it turned out pretty alright! It was my second time grilling the chicken breast though, the first time being dinner last week.


Learnt a valuable lesson: Don't be stubborn and lazy. If the chicken breast is too thick and chunky, cut it up and grill it, or else the insides will never be cooked. Hence the four pieces you see below. LOL.

Don't think it's just 4 pieces of grilled chicken breast and eggs, it's actually pretty filling! For a big eater like me, I was surprised by how filling the meal was.

Our dog, Odie. A cross-breed Labrador Retriever. Cute but can get very naughty.. heh. Everytime we're cooking something, he'll always be sitting outside the kitchen, as though we'd symphatise with him and drop him a piece of whatever we're cooking.. lol.

Our landlord wanted to get another dog to accompany Odie, so the other day a mid-sized King's Cavalier spaniel was brought along to see if it can adapt to the surroundings. The first moment Odie saw him, he wanted to hump him so badly. According to our landlord, it's actually 'cos Odie wanted to show who is the boss and to establish his position.

Poor spaniel though, he was scared out of his wits... lol.
